Intermediate/Senior SAP FICO Consultant

Salary: approx Eur 45 – eur 55 per hour

mostly remote (occasional visits to office based on needs)
Summary
We are hiring an experienced and motivated Intermediate SAP FI/CO Consultant to join our SAP team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and optimizing the Finance (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules within our SAP S/4HANA or ECC environment. This role involves working closely with business stakeholders to analyze requirements, design solutions, configure systems, and support financial processes and reporting needs.
Roles & Responsibilities
Strategic Implementation & Configuration
Design, configure, and implement SAP FICO modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, and Controlling
Lead end-to-end project implementations from blueprint to go-live support
Perform system upgrades, enhancements, and integration with other SAP modules
Business Partnership & Analysis
Collaborate with finance teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Conduct fit-gap analyses and recommend best practices for financial processes
Create detailed functional specifications and configuration documentation
System Optimization & Support
Troubleshoot and resolve complex FICO-related issues
Optimize existing processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
Provide Level 2/3 production support and user training
Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies
Required Skills & Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
– 5+ years of hands-on SAP FI/CO experience, including configuration and support.
– Strong understanding of financial processes and accounting principles.
– Experience with SAP ECC or S/4HANA (preferred).
– Familiarity with integration points between FI/CO and other SAP modules.
– Good knowledge of end-to-end business processes in finance and controlling.
– Ability to analyze complex problems and deliver effective solutions.
– Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with business and IT teams.
Qualifications:
– Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance (Central Finance, Universal Journal).
– Knowledge of SAP Fiori apps related to finance and controlling.
– Understanding of ABAP debugging (a plus).
– Project management or agile delivery experience.
– Professional certification in SAP FI/CO (optional but beneficial).
