Summary
We are seeking an experienced SAP BASIS Consultant to join our client’s IT operations team. This role is essential to the ongoing stability, performance, and scalability of the SAP landscape. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration of SAP systems, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery planning. You will work closely with SAP functional teams, developers, and infrastructure staff to ensure a secure and highly available SAP environment. Roles & Responsibilities
– Perform installation, configuration, and upgrades of SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, PI/PO, Solution Manager, etc.)
– Manage system monitoring, performance tuning, and daily health checks
– Configure and maintain transport routes, user administration, and security roles
– Execute kernel updates, support packs, and system copies
– Troubleshoot system issues, coordinate with application teams, and support change management processes
– Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies and high availability (HA) environments
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams during implementations, upgrades, and migrations
– Support cloud-based SAP solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP) where applicable
– Maintain documentation for all BASIS-related procedures and system configurations
Required Skills & Qualifications
– 3–7+ years’ hands-on experience in SAP BASIS / NetWeaver administration
– Experience with S/4HANA, HANA DB, and traditional AnyDB environments (e.g., Oracle, DB2, SQL Server)
– Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and basic scripting (Shell, Bash, PowerShell)
– Understanding of SAP security, transport management, and SAProuter configurations
– Experience in system refreshes, DR planning, and performance optimization
– Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager, EarlyWatch, and other monitoring tools
– SAP BASIS certification is a plus
– Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
– Master’s degree (preferred but not mandatory)
