Intermediate Data Engineer

Location: Warsaw, POLAND
Job Type: full-time (long term contract)
Daily rate: eur 30 – eur 45 per hour
Work Model: fully remote (Occasional visits to client office)


Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Engineer to join our growing data team. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support data-driven decision-making across the organization. Roles & Responsibilities

– Design, develop, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
– Build and maintain data architectures (e.g., databases, data lakes, data warehouses).
– Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers to ensure reliable data flow and accessibility.
– Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting.
– Work with both structured and unstructured data sources.
– Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
– Develop and maintain documentation for systems and processes.
– Experience with real-time data processing frameworks (e.g., Kafka, Spark Streaming).
– Familiarity with CI/CD for data pipelines.
– Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).


Required Skills & Qualifications

– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
– 4+ years of experience in a data engineering or related role.
– Proficiency in SQL and Python (or Scala/Java).
– Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and cloud-native data tools.
– Hands-on experience with data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
– Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow, Prefect, or similar.
– Strong understanding of data modeling and performance optimization.
– Experience with Databricks for data processing and analytics
– Experience with streaming data technologies such as Kafka or Kinesis
– Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
– Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
