Roles & Responsibilities
System Management & Optimization
Administer and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) across development, staging, and production environments
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions
Manage system updates, patches, and security configurations
Optimize server performance and resource utilization
Infrastructure & Automation
Design and implement automated deployment and configuration management solutions
Develop and maintain shell scripts and automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, or similar)
Manage virtualized environments (VMware, KVM, or cloud platforms)
Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps initiatives
Security & Compliance
Implement and maintain security best practices and hardening standards
Monitor security logs and respond to security incidents
Manage user access controls and authentication systems
Ensure compliance with organizational security policies
Collaboration & Support
Provide technical support to development and operations teams
Participate in on-call rotation for critical system support
Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting guides
Mentor junior team members and share knowledge
Required Skills & Qualifications
– 4+ years of hands-on Linux administration experience
– Strong command of shell scripting (Bash, Python preferred)
– Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Salt)
– Proficiency in networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls)
– Knowledge of monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, or similar)
– Experience with backup and recovery procedures
– Understanding of security principles and best practices
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
