Roles & Responsibilities
– Analyze, design, develop, test, and implement mainframe applications.
– Maintain and enhance existing COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2-based programs.
– Work with batch and online processing systems in a z/OS environment.
– Troubleshoot and resolve application issues and performance bottlenecks.
– Participate in code reviews, technical documentation, and quality assurance.
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
– Support production deployments, monitoring, and incident resolution.
– Ensure compliance with change management and security policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
– 3+ years of experience in mainframe development and programming.
– Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and TSO/ISPF.
– Solid understanding of CICS and z/OS operating systems.
– Experience working in structured environments with change control.
– Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
– Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
– Experience with modernization efforts such as API integration or cloud migration.
– Familiarity with REXX, Easytrieve, or Assembler.
– Knowledge of job schedulers like CA-7 or Control-M.
– Industry experience in finance, insurance, healthcare, or government systems.
– Exposure to source code management tools like Endevor or Changeman.
